99% of the Dutch population is supplied with high quality drinking water from the tap, by means of a secure and efficient mains system. Over the decades, the development of water technology has provided the Netherlands with sustainable systems for the production and supply of water and for the collection, treatment and partial reintroduction of "used" water into the system. In search of a more sustainable, environmentally friendly and widely available solution to the world's water problems, the Dutch water sector is researching, producing and applying some of the most cutting-edge products and services in the field of water resources management and sanitation.

Innovation Program Water Technology

The Innovation Program is set up to help (SME) companies and knowledge institutes optimise their innovation efforts. The program focuses on the practical implementation of innovations. Better cooperation is necessary to stimulate research, development, introduction in the market and, eventually, export. The Innovation Program has come up with a number of instruments that help facilitate and accelerate the implementation process of innovations.
