Via akvo heeft NWP de volgende oproep gekregen. De student Joe Kiambuthi uit Kenia is op zoek naar een mentor/begeleider voor zijn afstudeeronderzoek. Hieronder kort de introductie en conclusie van zijn onderzoeksvoorstel.

Introduction  
The water meter monitor is an arduino based residential water meter which not only displays the readings of the water meter at location but also sends these readings to a database via a GSM module. It will also be calibrated to control valves remotely which control water distribution at every meter.  Using the GSM module each and every water meter can be monitored and mapped. The data collected from the meter will then be relayed back to the consumer according to subscription. Other data sets that are not exclusive; billing, will be made open to the public.

Conclusion
Though the project faces various hindrances like hardware acquisition I believe with the right guidance/mentorship this project can be realized and scaled so that it may not only aid the water systems in Kenya but all over the world.
